I love the start of a new year and the change of the seasons, a fresh slate, time to reset the page and one thing I love to do is go through my belongings and see what I no longer need or love and get rid of them.
A clutter clear is always good as by getting rid of the old and unwanted you are releasing the space for more good energy to come into your life.
I first got into space / clutter clearing thanks to Karen Kingston. The journalist Jane Alexander wrote a piece about Karen and her space clearing abilities and I was hooked. It made so much sense to me and I started to chuck out belongings I no longer needed or liked with enthusiasm.
Having purchased Karen’ books, including multiple copies of Clear Your Clutter as presents for friends and been on one of her course, I’m a disciple and read her blogs with avid interest.
Because of Karen Kingston I love clutter clearing. It’s a task I do regularly, it’s not something you do once and that’s it, you have to continue and do it on a regular basis. You will find that each time you go through your belongings, you’ll wonder why you didn’t get rid of some of them sooner. I see it as maintenance for your home and mind. It will help to reduce stress as less stuff equals less cleaning.
So go on, have a clear out. Don’t think you have to hang on to that figurine that Aunt Gertrude bought you, the one you can’t stand. Pass it on. If it’s ever asked about then you could always say; shame it got broken.
